Each one of us can help, no matter how small, to touch the lives of those around us. The Symons family farm lies outside Mooi River.  Ella who attends Treverton (Grade 12) having seen the devastation caused by the recent riots and how badly affected the residents are, raised funds, gathered food and distributed parcels in Colenso. #everybithelps #kindnessmatters #thetrevertonexperience

I arrived at Treverton 6½ years ago after I had decided to return from teaching in South Korea to further my studies. I was a locum for a teacher who had gone on maternity leave when a permanent position become available, so have been teaching full-time since 2016.
I have a passion for people, society, and understanding how the human mind works, so it is no wonder that I teach Life Orientation. I am also an avid reader, plant lover, and DIY enthusiast.  I have learned a lot at Treverton and it has been a place that has allowed me to grow but especially given me the opportunity to be part of something different.
I am big on adopting a growth mindset and particularly love this quote by Frank A. Clark  “if you find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn’t lead anywhere”
