Introductions

The Treverton Equestrian Centre located in the Treverton Wildlife Area has all the tranquility, space and beauty of a typical Midlands stud farm.

Horses graze on green fields alongside resident zebra and a variety of wild buck; whitewashed stables provide comfortable and picturesque homes for twelve horses and ponies as well as a number of pupil-owned horses and ponies; rolling Midlands hills on the broader Treverton estate beckon the more adventurous for wonderful, safe outrides.


Facilities and Management

Managed by Daneen Schallen, SANEF Level 2 instructor, with many years experience with Pony Riders and Juniors, and her live-in, experienced grooms and stablehands, Treverton's Equestrian Centre provides top quality training for beginners, novices and experienced riders wanting to gain proficiency in Showjumping, Equitation, Dressage, Eventing and Showing.

Resources in addition to the 270 hectare estate include:

  • 2 jumping arenas
  • 2 full size dressage arenas with sprinklers
  • 1 lunge ring
  • 32 stables
  • 4 cross country tracks (Welcome, Pre-Novice, Novice, Intermediate)
  • Fully maintained cross country track 60cm, 70cm, 80cm, 90cm, 1m, 1*, 2*, 3* with large water jump.
  • 14 large electrified paddocks with good grazing, water and plenty of shade

Training and Shows

Training and Jumping Shows are held at least once a term on the Treverton property to which equestrians from far a field  regularly come and in which budding equestrian pupils from the school are encouraged to compete and excel. Treverton holds clinics of various disciplines with National and International instructors to further the horse and riders' education.

The Treverton Equestrian Centre holds at least two affiliated eventing shows a year, SANESA Schools Core League and Eventing shows.  Our pupils participate in outside shows including those affiliated, training and SANESA Schools shows.

Lessons and Stabling

The Treverton Equestrian Centre offers group and private lessons with  qualified instructors as well as competitive rates for stabling of ponies and horses.

Prospective pupils need to complete the necessary application and indemnity forms as horse riding is an optional extra.
