After Matric?

Towards the end of their school days, students have to address the serious question: "What now?"

For some it's a case of choosing between a number of options open to them; for some it's a case of no clear options at all; for some it's about waiting for that overseas opportunity and for others it's about planning time off to recover from school and see the world.

At this point, Treverton College would like to introduce the resident Post Matric Programme.

What is this Post Matric Programme?

Unlike standard A-levels (which are academic in focus) and the traditional gap year which is largely about fun and getting away from it all, our programme offers a multifaceted launch pad for adult life.

In 11 months (following the school terms) this unique programme includes a wide spectrum of experiences (adventure activities, learning for life components and preparation for career entry) that allows students to mature, develop and learn essential skills. The course is supervised, action-packed, relevant and disciplined; it combines learning, fun, autonomy and guidance in a Christian environment, and lays the foundations for establishing deep and solid friendships.

Where is it?

During the year, the fifteen Post-Matrics ("Posties") selected for the course get to live in a complex overlooking the Treverton College dam on our beautiful, 270-hectare, country-side campus in the heart of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands.

Accommodation?

The Posties' complex is made up of four thatched cottages (two for girls and two for boys), the Director's house and a Resource Centre comprising a large lounge, kitchen and dining area, an entertainment area and a laundry facility.

While in residence Posties are responsible for their own domestic arrangements (buying of food and domestic supplies, cleaning of rooms and the centre, minor maintenance, laundry and cooking) and also for the management of the joint Post Matric Account.
