Payment
In terms of Treverton regulations and the signed enrolment contracts, fees are payable in advance in South African Rands by the first day of each term. This must be strictly adhered to, unless special arrangements have been agreed to in writing by the Head of Resources. Interest on late payments will be charged at 2% above the Bank’s Prime Rate.
Payment can be effected by automatic debit order, cheque or electronic funds transfer. Cheques should be crossed “‘NOT TRANSFERABLE”, made out to “Treverton Trust” and sent to the Head of Resources, Treverton, Private Bag 505, Mooi River, 3300.
Direct termly payments can be made into the bank account (Standard Bank, Mooi River Branch Code No. 05 78 25, Account No. 060 204 931). Where money is either transferred electronically or deposited directly into the bank account, a copy of the payment confirmation or deposit slip must be faxed to the Head of Resources’ Office (033-263 1210) before payment will be deemed to have been made.
A full term’s notice in writing or payment in lieu is required when removing a pupil from the School or Boarding.
Discounts
A discount of 10% is allowed on the fees of each of the younger pupils when two or more of the immediate family is enrolled. This discount excludes the oldest pupil and automatically falls away when only one pupil in the family remains at Treverton. Since no financial allowance is made for absence from our schools or hostels for illness, extended holiday or disciplinary reasons, parents may elect to insure against loss of fees by reason of illness or accidents. Application forms are available from the Head of Resources on request. If parents avail themselves of this insurance, they are still liable to settle any shortfall between the amount due to the School and the amount recovered from the Insurer.
A 8%, 6% and 4% discount is offered if the annual fees are settled in full before the end of November 2009, December 2009 and 31st January 2010 respectively. The discount is applied to tuition, boarding and nett of any other allowance granted.
A fee rebate is available (on application) for the children of those in fulltime Christian ministry or missions.
Scholarships & Bursaries
A small number of Academic Scholarships are awarded each year to in-coming Grade 8 pupils who:
- achieve an 80% average or above in their Grade 6 year;
- complete the necessary application paperwork by the deadline (usually second weekend in March);
- are invited to one of two Scholarship weekends (usually the middle and end of April);
- successfully complete the individual and family interview process;
- receive written confirmation of a Scholarship offer from Treverton usually in May and confirm acceptance of this usually by the first weekend of June.
Bursaries are reserved for families of current pupils who fall on temporary hard times. These are applied for to the Head of Resources
