Key Traditions

Treverton College is passionately committed to two major traditions.

The first is "to celebrate the individual" and the second is "to pursue authentic Christianity", both of which help to equip pupils academically, physically and spiritually.

A Treverton education is South African Independent Schooling at its best.

Graduating pupils have a sense of being valued and special without being elitist; they are privileged but not spoiled and they are well-mannered and socially able to mix in the multicultural, economically-diverse reality of today.

7 different countries are represented at the College
3 Sporting houses (Campbell, Jonsson, Harland) compete for the annual Inter-house Trophy
There are 5 boarding houses - 2 for girls and 3 for boys
an average of 50 students per boarding house
100% pass rate in I.E.B examinations since 1995
a 90% exemption rate, despite no entrance examinations
35 Provincial and 3 South African representatives in sport in one year
20 sports available at or through the College
Regular access to Astroturf from Grade 1
A fully equipped gym and weights training facility
An auditorium seating 452
Fishing in the school dam
A snake pit supervised by a "snake prefect"
Zebra and blesbok and other wild animals on the estate
over ⅓ hectare of space per pupil enabling a 10km run in safety without leaving the estate
Facilities for pupils' horses
Is registered as an ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence) Training and Testing Centre
500 years combined experience among the staff

Discipline

"We believe that if we take care of the pennies (haircuts, uniforms and manners etc), the pounds will take care of themselves. Our track record with regard to discipline has proven us right.

Pupils are encouraged to exercise self-discipline within a positive environment where good attitudes and self-improvement are important. We communicate our expectations to pupils; we have a system of demerits to trigger reasonable consequences at different benchmarks and we work with parents to remedy unacceptable behaviour."
