Every year the College invites Grade 6’s and 7’s to Sleepover over the course of a weekend. The purpose of the Sleepover is to expose pupils to a taste of Boarding, show them the campus and meet the staff and pupils. We believe that in the case of College Boarding, a few hours for an Open Day just isn’t enough to make an informed decision. There are two Sleepovers per year, one in March and the other in October, giving more opportunity to find a weekend that suits you! What makes this year even more exciting in March is that it times with our Big Event Family Fun Day. So we have integrated the two events.
Saturday 9th March
Sleepover children will need to be dropped off at the Alan Staples Centre/Theatre on the College campus at 14h00 for registration and parents will be taken on a tour of the boarding houses upon arrival. Please do not drop and go! Following a short welcome to everyone from Kean Broom, the College Headmaster, at 14h30 there will be an optional tour for parents of the school grounds while our young guests are taken in groups to the various activities planned as part of the Big Event Carnival for the afternoon. Parents are more than welcome to stay and enjoy everything on offer from golf to stallholder eats and activities. Your children will enjoy supper in the main dining hall along with the balance of the School and will enjoy an evening of karaoke before hot chocolate and bed.
Sunday 10th March
The day starts with a simple breakfast for the children followed by a special combined church service at 09h00 as part of the Big Event where all local churches will meet on campus together. Parents are invited to join us! An Information Brunch will then be served for children and parents from 10h30 at the College Sports Pavilion. The Pavilion is situated between the Astroturf and the Holford sports field. Following this you may depart at your leisure after signing your children out from the Staples Centre.
For any children requiring special dietary requirements, these are easily accommodated if indicated on the booking forms.
Siblings are more then welcome to attend the Information Brunch please include them in your catering numbers.
